Braised Pork Knuckle
Braised Pork Knuckle|Rich, Collagen-Rich Treat for Serious Comfort Cravings
If you love that sticky, bouncy, melt-in-your-mouth kind of comfort food, this Braised Pork Knuckle is exactly that kind of happiness in a bowl.
We use the front pork knuckle, a cut that’s naturally full of collagen and flavor (and yes, that also means a bit more bone — which is why it tastes so good). It’s braised low and slow with over ten kinds of aromatics, spices, and traditional herbs, until the skin, fat, and tendon turn soft, wobbly, and deeply seasoned.
Every bite has that classic QQ, bouncy texture, and as it warms in your mouth, the collagen-rich sauce gently coats your lips — that slightly sticky, glossy feeling that pork knuckle fans live for. The flavor is a layered mix of soy, spices, and gentle herbal notes, with a mild chili warmth that keeps each bite interesting without overwhelming the dish.
Serve it as a centerpiece dish for family dinners, holidays, or special gatherings, or enjoy it on a quiet night in with a bowl of rice and some greens. It’s one of those dishes that instantly makes the table feel a little more festive.
※ Cut from the front pork knuckle, which is naturally rich in collagen and may contain more bones.
※ Spice level: mildly spicy 🌶 – flavorful and warming, but not extremely hot.
※ Photos are for serving suggestions. Actual product contains braised pork knuckle only; vegetables and other sides are not included.
※ Best kept frozen; generally keeps well for up to six months. Please refer to the package for the exact best-by date.
Cooking Instructions (click to expand)
This product is fully cooked braised pork knuckle and should be reheated before serving. For the best texture and flavor, heat until the knuckle is hot all the way through and the sauce is gently bubbling.
1️⃣ Stovetop (most recommended)
- Remove the pouch from the freezer and allow it to thaw in the refrigerator or at room temperature until partially or fully thawed.
- Cut open the pouch and transfer the pork knuckle and braising sauce into a pot.
- If you’d like, add a splash of water or broth to prevent the sauce from reducing too quickly. This is also a great time to add vegetables like daikon, mushrooms, or greens.
- Heat over medium to medium-low heat until the sauce comes to a full boil. Let it gently simmer for a few more minutes to ensure the knuckle is heated through to the center.
- Serve the pork knuckle whole or cut into pieces, with plenty of sauce over rice, noodles, or alongside your favorite sides.
2️⃣ Hot Water Bath (minimal cleanup)
- Move the pouch from the freezer to the fridge or room temperature until it is partially or fully thawed.
- Without opening, place the sealed pouch into a pot of boiling water. Make sure the water level fully covers the pouch.
- Keep at a gentle boil for about 10–12 minutes, turning the pouch once or twice so it heats evenly on all sides.
- Carefully remove the pouch, cut it open, and pour the pork knuckle and sauce into a serving dish. Enjoy as is, or briefly transfer to a pot for a quick simmer if you’d like a stronger reduction.
3️⃣ Electric Cooker / Rice Cooker (hands-off option)
- Thaw the pouch in the refrigerator, then open it and transfer the pork knuckle and sauce into a heatproof bowl that fits inside your rice cooker.
- Place the bowl in the inner pot, add about half to one cup of water to the outer pot, and turn the cooker on.
- When it switches to “warm,” check that the pork knuckle is fully heated through. If you’d like it hotter or more reduced, you can run one more short cycle.
※ For best enjoyment, serve when the pork knuckle is piping hot and the sauce is gently bubbling, so the collagen becomes silky and the flavors are at their fullest.
Tips & Notes (click to expand)
- Store in the freezer upon arrival and enjoy before the best-by date indicated on the package for optimal flavor and texture.
- Once opened and reheated, do not refreeze. If you have leftovers, refrigerate and finish within 1–2 days.
- It’s normal for the sauce to become jelly-like and for fat to solidify when chilled — this is due to the natural collagen and fat in the pork knuckle. It will melt back into a smooth, rich sauce once warmed.
- This product contains pork and may contain soy, wheat, or other allergens. Please check the ingredient list on the package for full allergen information.
