Braised Beef Shank|Tender, Flavor-Packed Slices for Serious Beef Lovers
In our beef lineup, Braised Beef Shank is one of those “regulars-only know” favorites. It’s the cut people come back for when they want that perfect balance of lean meat, tendon, and deep braised flavor — tender enough to bite through easily, but with just the right amount of chew.
We use carefully selected beef shank with a good mix of meat and tendon, then braise it low and slow in our house soy-based braising sauce with aromatics and spices. The result is beef that’s fully infused with flavor, with visible fibers that pull apart nicely, and a satisfying bite that makes it perfect both as a cold appetizer and as a hot main dish.
Enjoy it chilled, thinly sliced as part of a braised meat platter, or warm it up and serve over rice, noodles, or in a bowl of braised beef soup. Pair it with our Braised Beef Soup (with Beef Shank) and you get that “double beef” moment in one bowl — the kind of meal that makes beef lovers quietly very, very happy.

Cooking Instructions (click to expand)
This product is fully cooked braised beef shank. After thawing, it can be enjoyed chilled or warmed up. It works beautifully as a cold sliced appetizer, in braised beef soup, or as a topping for rice and noodles.
1️⃣ Serve Chilled (thaw & slice)
- Transfer the pack from the freezer to the refrigerator and let it thaw completely, or thaw at room temperature until soft.
- Open the pouch and slice the beef shank into thin or bite-size pieces, depending on how you’d like to serve it.
- Arrange on a plate and enjoy as a cold appetizer. Optional: top with sliced scallions, garlic, chili, or a drizzle of vinegar or chili oil for extra flavor.
2️⃣ With Braised Beef Soup / Beef Noodles
- Thaw the braised beef shank in the fridge or at room temperature until no longer rock solid.
- Heat up a pot of braised beef soup or broth (perfect with our Braised Beef Soup (with Beef Shank)).
- Add the sliced or whole beef shank to the soup and bring everything to a boil.
- Let it simmer for a few extra minutes so the beef shank warms through and soaks up the broth again, then serve with noodles or rice for a hearty, upgraded bowl.
3️⃣ Stovetop Reheat (for serving warm)
- Thaw the pouch, then cut it open and pour the beef shank and braising sauce into a small pot.
- If you prefer a bit more sauce, add a splash of water or broth to loosen it. You can also add vegetables or tofu to turn it into a simple one-pan dish.
- Heat over low to medium heat, stirring gently, until the sauce is gently bubbling and the beef is hot throughout.
- Serve as a main dish with steamed rice, or slice and layer over a bowl of rice as a “beef shank rice bowl.”
4️⃣ Hot Water Bath (minimal cleanup)
- Let the pouch thaw partially or fully in the fridge or at room temperature.
- Without opening, place the sealed pouch into a pot of boiling water.
- Make sure the water fully covers the pouch and keep at a gentle boil for about 8–10 minutes.
- Carefully remove, cut open, and transfer the beef shank and sauce to a plate or bowl. Slice or serve as-is, depending on how you prefer it.
5️⃣ Electric Cooker / Rice Cooker (hands-off option)
- Thaw the pouch, then open it and place the beef shank and sauce into a heatproof bowl that fits inside your rice cooker.
- Set the bowl in the inner pot, add about half a cup of water to the outer pot, and turn the cooker on.
- When it switches to “warm,” stir the sauce lightly and check that the beef is fully heated through. If needed, run one more short cycle.
※ For best enjoyment, serve the beef shank fully thawed if eaten cold, or piping hot with gently bubbling sauce if served warm.
Tips & Notes (click to expand)
- Store in the freezer upon arrival. For best quality, enjoy before the “best by” date printed on the package.
- Once opened and reheated, do not refreeze. If you have leftovers, refrigerate and finish within 1–2 days.
- It’s normal for the sauce or collagen to become jelly-like and for fat to solidify when chilled — this will melt back into a smooth, glossy sauce once warmed.
