Beef Bourguignon
Beef Bourguignon|Slow-Braised Comfort with Pinot Noir Red Wine
This winter, you don’t have to travel to a French countryside inn to enjoy a cozy, slow-braised classic. Our Beef Bourguignon brings that French bistro comfort straight to your own table.
We start with tender cuts of beef and Pinot Noir red wine as the heart of the dish. Pinot Noir is known for its thin skin, gentle tannins, and elegant character — a beautiful match for slow braising. It lends notes of red cherry and red berries, a hint of toasted herbs, subtle spice, and earthy depth that make the sauce layered and complex.
Its bright, balanced acidity cuts through the richness of the beef — lifting the flavors, never overpowering them. The result is a sauce that’s silky, smooth on the palate, and full of aroma without feeling heavy or cloying.
After hours of gentle simmering, the beef soaks up the wine and juices, turning meltingly tender while still holding its shape. The finish unfolds slowly with berry, cocoa, and savory depth — a long, delicate aftertaste that makes you want one more bite… and then another.
For us, this isn’t just “another dish.” It’s the kind of meal that adds a little ritual to winter days — heat the Beef Bourguignon, set out some bread, pasta, or mashed potatoes, and all of a sudden your home feels a bit like a restaurant.
Why You’ll Love This Beef Bourguignon

- Slow-braised to just-right tenderness:The beef is saucy and tender, not dry or stringy, with a satisfying bite.
- Rich but not heavy:Berries, herbs, spices, and beefy goodness come together in a sauce that’s complex, not overwhelming.

Storage
- Keep frozen:Place in the freezer as soon as your order arrives.
- For best flavor and texture, enjoy before the “best by” date shown on the package.
Method 1:Stovetop Reheat (Recommended)
- Remove the Beef Bourguignon from the freezer and let it thaw slightly in the fridge or at room temperature until you can safely cut open the pouch.
- Cut open the pouch and pour all of the contents (sauce + beef) into a small pot.
- Heat over medium-low heat, stirring gently from time to time to prevent sticking. Try not to break up the beef pieces too much.
- Bring to a gentle simmer and keep heating until everything is piping hot throughout.
- Serve with:
- cooked pasta, pappardelle, or penne
- creamy mashed potatoes or roasted potatoes
- crusty bread, baguette, or over steamed rice for a French-meets-home-style bowl
Method 2:Rice Cooker / Electric Cooker
- Let the pouch thaw slightly, then cut open and pour into a heat-safe bowl or inner pot. Cover with a lid or foil.
- Place in your rice cooker, add about ½–1 cup of water to the outer pot, and turn it on.
- When it switches to “warm,” let it sit for another 5 minutes, then check that the sauce and beef are fully heated.
Method 3:Hot Water Bath
- Let the frozen pouch soften slightly so it’s not rock-hard.
- Place the sealed pouch into a pot of gently boiling water, making sure it’s fully submerged.
- Heat over medium heat for about 10–15 minutes, depending on pouch thickness.
- Carefully remove, pat dry, cut open, and pour into a serving dish. If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can briefly simmer it on the stovetop to reduce.
Tip:Every stove and pot behaves a little differently. The first time you heat it, keep an eye on it and adjust time and heat levels as needed. We don’t recommend heating the sealed pouch directly in the microwave, as it can cause uneven heating and may affect the sauce and meat texture.
Gentle Notes & Serving Tips – Click to expand
- This product is cooked with Pinot Noir red wine. Most of the alcohol is reduced during long simmering, but a small amount may remain. If you are very sensitive to alcohol, avoid all alcohol for religious reasons, or are serving young children, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, please consider whether this dish is right for you and consult a healthcare professional if needed.
- Depending on the exact recipe, this entrée may contain beef, onions, butter or dairy, and gluten (if served with pasta or bread). If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, please review the ingredient list carefully.
- For best quality, it’s recommended to enjoy the dish right after heating. If you have leftovers, let them cool completely, store in the refrigerator, and finish within 1–2 days. Avoid repeated thawing and multiple reheats to protect both flavor and food safety.
