How different can a bak kut teh really be? The answer is in the lingering sweetness of that very last sip.

The secret is black garlic, aged for dozens of days. Its sharpness mellows into a deep, gentle sweetness, close to dried fruit. Simmered with white pepper, warming herbs and meaty pork ribs, the pot unfolds in layers: the peppery aroma comes first, the rich ribs follow, and the sweetness of black garlic rises at the very end. Don't let the smooth finish fool you. Underneath, this is a proper warming tonic soup, one that goes down easily and never turns bitter.

  • Herbal and warming: Warming herbs are simmered long enough to build real depth, and white pepper chases off the chill. When the weather cools, this is the pot your body asks for.
  • Aged black garlic, nourishing without the bitterness: Whole bulbs aged for dozens of days soften the herbal edge into a mellow sweetness, easy to enjoy even if you usually shy away from herbal soups.
  • Slow-simmered on the bone: Meaty pork ribs are cooked until the meat slips off the bone at a touch of the chopsticks, with all the bone flavor and collagen left in the broth.
  • Heat and serve as a main dish: The broth is fully seasoned. Keep it in the freezer, heat it through and it's ready for the table.

How to enjoy: Sip the broth hot. Dip youtiao (Chinese fried dough) into the soup, the classic Southeast Asian way. Add mee sua noodles and blanched greens, and it becomes a full meal.

Cooking Instructions

For All Kind of Soup:

  • After defrosting the soup, pour soup into a pot along with chicken drumsticks and seasonal vegetables of your choice. Bring everything to a boil.
  • Microwave: Pour defrosted soup into a microwaveable safe container, place lid with ventilation holes, and microwave for 5-7 minutes (1300W microwave oven).
  • Electric cooker: Pour frozen soup into the cooker and heat.
  • Water-heating: Once the frozen soup is thawed, place the entire heat safe bag into a boiling pot of water enough to cover the entire surface. Heat over medium heat for 3-5 minutes.

Braised Beef Soup(with Beef Shank), Braised Beef Tendon, Thirty Spices Chef Spicy Fermented Tofu, Frozen Baked Sweet Potato, Braised Napa Cabbage:

  • After defrosting the soup and shank, pour it into a pot. Bring everything to a boil.

Storage Instruction

Store in Freezer. All frozen products expire 6 months after production date.

  • Both online and phone orders must be placed before Thursday of each week no later than 1:00PM(13:00). After 1:00PM (13:00) it will be considered shipment for Monday.
  • Shipping days are from Monday through Thursday. No weekend shipping (Friday through Sunday). Depending on order date chicken essence will arrive Tuesday through Friday of each week.
  • We do not process orders on all major holidays. ALL methods are done within business days.
  • We ship via FedEx Next Day Air only.
  • Please allow 2-3 business days for processing orders
