陳稼莊果園的園主是中興大學農學院畜牧系畢業的陳坤生，一位出身自台南縣鹽水鎮坔頭港鄉下、憨直勤樸的農家子弟，因為陳坤生自身對生態環境的關懷、對有毒物質的排斥，本著尊重生命、珍惜土地的熱忱，在他立志當農夫之時，從第一塊田地開始，就打定主意絕不使用農藥、化學肥料、除草劑，以「無農藥‧自然農業」作為陳稼莊果園的創立原則。
